Nancy O'Dell's career began in Myrtle Beach South Carolina as an anchor and news reporter with WPDE-TV. Later she was a morning-news anchor as well as a crime reporter at WCBD TV. O'Dell's reports in Charleston regarding the police's tolerance in DUI cases led to a State Law Enforcement Division to investigate. The result was states authorities enforcing more rigorous rules in these instances. Ms. O'Dell received recognition from the Associated Press with the Best Report of the Year Awards to all media South Carolina. O'Dell then worked for NBC's Miami-based station WTVJ-TV as an investigative reporter and anchor, prior to her joining Access Hollywood in the role of co-anchor for the weekend. In addition to her current job as the lead anchor on Access Hollywood Ms. O'Dell also contributes to NBC News' Today and as well for Dateline NBC. The anchor has hosted a number of pre-show arrivals to The Emmys as well as The Golden Globe Awards. She also hosts the Miss USA Pageant and Miss Universe.
